The meaning of art, as we know it

Since the beginning of time, artists, writers, and thinkers alike have pondered like forever trying to define "art", in the same way that they've wrapped their heads around trying to find the meaning of love, ehem, under the waning moon. From the worn and torn "What is art?" to the "What makes good art?" and to the most macabre "But is it art?"
